Your doctor may want you to make a few lifestyle changes, such as adding exercise to your routine. Some exercises can help keep your bones strong. These exercises include42:

  • Aerobic exercise
  • Weight-resistance exercises
  • Walking
  • Climbing
  • Dancing

Diet and medication

If your doctor approves, you may also try adding foods rich in calcium and vitamin D to your diet. Your doctor will determine whether you need dietary supplements such as calcium and vitamin D.42
